COOS BAY, Ore. — A North Bend resident, identified as Jeffrey Honeycutt, 35, found himself in hot water after allegedly causing a scene in a local tavern parking lot in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Coos Bay Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance involving an intoxicated driver who had collided with a vehicle in the 400 block of Newmark Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Honeycutt had not only struck a parked car but had also engaged in physical altercations with individuals in the parking lot. In a bid to flee the scene, Honeycutt reportedly hit another person and a different vehicle with his car before attempting to make a quick getaway.

Law enforcement officers managed to intercept Honeycutt as he tried to leave the area and promptly detained him. Suspecting that he was under the influence of alcohol, the authorities called for backup to interview witnesses and attend to the injured party, who fortunately sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, Honeycutt was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail. He is now facing a slew of charges, including driving under the influence of intoxicants, felony failure to perform the duties of a driver, and two counts of misdemeanor failure to perform the duties of a driver.
