WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Authorities in Wichita Falls have apprehended a 33-year-old man named Jacob Wisdom for the alleged theft of a vehicle and evading police.
The incident unfolded when the Wichita Falls Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from TNT Auto on the evening of Sunday, June 2.
The following day, while on a break at the QT gas station in Wichita Falls, officers spotted a vehicle on Iowa Park Road that matched the description of the stolen vehicle. Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated onto Iowa Park Road in an attempt to evade the police, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.
The pursuit continued as the stolen vehicle navigated through the parking lot of P3 Restaurant and proceeded north on Sheppard Access Road. The chase came to an end when the vehicle crashed in a U-turn lane on Sheppard Access Road.
Following the crash, the driver, identified as Jacob Wisdom, fled on foot to nearby train tracks where he was apprehended by officers. Wisdom was arrested for the theft of the vehicle and evading police in a motor vehicle. Police suspect that the items found in the car may also be stolen, although additional charges have not been confirmed at this time.
