In a surprising turn of events, a woman from Evansville, identified as Emily Dunaway, was arrested in Hopkins County, Kentucky, after stealing a good Samaritan’s car on I-69. The incident unfolded when the victim stopped to offer assistance to Dunaway on the highway.

According to officials, the victim pulled over to help Dunaway on I-69 south in Hanson. However, as they were providing assistance, Dunaway took advantage of the situation and drove off in the victim’s car.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the situation and located the stolen vehicle at the Western Kentucky Parkway interchange, approximately 20 miles away from the initial incident.

Despite attempts to evade law enforcement, Dunaway continued driving and eventually exited at Highway 41, heading further south. Her journey came to an end in Crofton, Kentucky, where the Christian County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist in her apprehension.

Following a brief pursuit, Dunaway was successfully stopped and taken into custody. She is currently being held without bond as the investigation into the incident continues.
