Tragic Discovery at Parolee’s Home

On the evening of May 31, police were called to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive in Chevy Chase for a welfare check on a parole agent who had failed to report back to work after visiting 54-year-old Emanuel Edward Sewell, a known registered sex offender. Upon arrival at the parolee’s residence, officers made a shocking discovery – the lifeless body of parole agent Davis Martinez.

A Bright Spirit Remembered

Described as a bright spirit and a dedicated professional, Davis Martinez is fondly remembered by his family as a “true trailblazer.” His brother, Michael Martinez, reflected on Davis’ character, stating, “He was a kindred spirit – there’s really no single word to encapsulate Davis. He was always at ease with himself.”

Arrest Made in Connection with Murder

The prime suspect in the murder of Davis Martinez, 54-year-old Emanuel Edward Sewell, a registered sex offender who was released from prison in 2021, was apprehended while travelling on I-64 near Hurricane, W.Va. Sewell has been charged with second-degree murder and will be extradited back to Montgomery County to face justice.
