Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Davie County, North Carolina, have confirmed the heartbreaking news that the disappearance of Cynthia “Cindy” Roberson Gobble, a 60-year-old woman from Mocksville, was the result of a murder-suicide.

Concerns arose when family members reported that they had not been able to reach Cindy since late afternoon, prompting deputies to conduct a welfare check at her residence on Country Lane. It was revealed that Cindy was in the process of separating and divorcing from her husband, Gregory Wayne Gobble, 59, also of Mocksville.

Despite efforts to locate Cindy, she was not found at her home, and evidence suggested that she did not leave voluntarily. Her personal belongings were discovered in her vehicle, adding to the mystery of her disappearance.

Authorities and family members scoured areas frequented by both Cindy and Gregory, but all attempts to contact them electronically proved futile. Gregory’s white Ford truck, which he was seen driving on the day of Cindy’s disappearance, was also missing.

Following an intensive search, law enforcement issued a missing persons alert for both individuals and the white Ford truck. Tragically, the search came to a devastating end when the bodies of Cynthia and Gregory Gobble were discovered in a wooded area near the Iredell-Davie County line.

Post-mortem examinations revealed that both victims died from gunshot wounds, with the weapon recovered at the scene. It was determined that Gregory shot and killed Cindy before taking his own life.

The Davie County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that there are no additional suspects or persons of interest in the case, assuring the public that there is no ongoing threat. Anyone with information regarding the activities of Cynthia and Gregory between Wednesday and Thursday is urged to contact the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
