Authorities in Steuben County, Indiana responded to a two-vehicle collision on CR 700 W and CR 400 S on Saturday morning. According to a statement released by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, one of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene on foot.

Upon arrival at the scene, Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered two vehicles with significant damage from the collision. Preliminary findings suggest that a white 2018 Ram 1500 truck driven by 30-year-old Andrew Lundgren of Angola was traveling southbound on CR 400 W towards the intersection of CR 700 S. At the same time, a white 2001 Ford Mustang made a left turn onto CR 700 S from CR 400 W, directly into the path of the Ram pickup truck. The vehicles collided at nearly a right angle.

Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported. However, the driver of the Ford Mustang, identified as 23-year-old Colton Taylor of Auburn, fled the scene on foot. Law enforcement officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate Taylor immediately.

Through diligent investigation and follow-up on leads, the Sheriff’s Office was able to identify Taylor as the driver of the Ford Mustang. He was subsequently arrested in Auburn on an unrelated warrant. Records from MyCase indicate that Taylor has a lengthy criminal history.

The case remains under investigation as authorities seek to bring criminal charges against Taylor in connection with the hit-and-run incident. It is currently unclear whether there were any injuries sustained as a result of the collision.
