Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) were called to the scene of a devastating crash that took the life of a motorcyclist in the early hours of Saturday morning on University Blvd West near Kerwin Road in the Kemp Mill area. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez from Silver Spring. The community has since come together to support his family by raising funds for his funeral expenses.
The Martinez Gamez family initiated a GoFundMe fundraiser which has garnered over $7,000 in donations within the past 24 hours. They expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Details of the Fatal Crash
The Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the tragic collision that claimed the life of Martinez Gamez. The incident involved a collision between a white 2023 Tesla Model 3 and a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle at the intersection of University Blvd West and Kerwin Rd.
According to preliminary reports, Martinez Gamez was travelling eastbound on University Blvd West towards Kerwin Road when the Tesla driver attempted a left turn from northbound Kerwin Road onto westbound University Blvd West. Despite Martinez Gamez’s efforts to avoid the oncoming vehicle, he collided with the driver’s side of the Tesla, resulting in fatal injuries.
