In Cornwall, a late-night accident on Thursday led to the arrest of a local man on suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident occurred at approximately 9:32 p.m. on May 31, when state troopers were called to the scene of a rollover crash on West Street near Cross Road.
Upon arriving at the location, authorities discovered a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado overturned in a nearby ditch. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 29-year-old Brad-Leigh Grace, a Cornwall resident who was found to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Grace sustained what appeared to be moderate injuries in the crash and was promptly taken to Porter Medical Center for medical treatment. However, during their interaction with Grace at the crash site, troopers noticed signs of impairment and proceeded to conduct a field screening.
Following the screening, Grace was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. The Silverado, which Grace had been driving, suffered significant damage in the crash, with the front, hood, roof, windshield, wheel, and side all being affected.
