Antoinette Lattouf wins unfair dismissal case against ABC

Antoinette Lattouf, a journalist who was sacked from her casual presenting role on ABC local radio, has been vindicated by the Fair Work Commission. The ruling allows Lattouf to pursue an unlawful termination case against the broadcaster.

Lattouf’s legal battle with the ABC began after she was abruptly taken off air just three days into a five-day casual contract in December. The ABC cited Lattouf’s social media posts about the Israel-Gaza conflict as the reason for her dismissal, claiming they breached editorial policy.

Seeking reinstatement, compensation, and pecuniary penalties against the ABC, Lattouf is determined to hold the broadcaster accountable. She has also demanded that ABC management undergo training to ensure compliance with their employment agreement obligations.
