Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with Armed Robberies in Memphis

Memphis, Tenn. — Four suspects are now in custody after Memphis Police announced their involvement in several armed robberies, including the theft of a diaper bag from a woman carrying her one-year-old child at an ice cream shop in Berclair.

Angelica Washington, 25, has been charged with Robbery and Theft of Property amounting to $1,000-$2,500. She is currently being held in jail on a $50,000 bond.

Denisha Lewis, 19, faces three counts of Robbery, Theft of Property $1,000-$2,500, and two counts of Theft of Property $1,000 or less. She was released on her own recognizance.

Deshun Lewis, 18, is charged with three counts of Robbery, Theft of Property $1,000-$2,500, and two counts of Theft of Property $1,000 or less. He has a bond set at $100,000.

Calvin Langston, 18, is charged with Robbery and has a bond set at $5,000.

According to Memphis Police, the series of robberies began on April 14 at La Michioana on Summer Avenue. A woman carrying her child was assaulted, and her diaper bag was stolen by one of the suspects.

Subsequent incidents took place on May 25, where a man had his wallet taken at an Exxon gas station, and two women were assaulted at an Aldi store, with various items stolen from their vehicle.

Police were able to locate the suspects’ vehicle, a black Pontiac Grand Am, at the Grahamwood Place Apartments, where they found incriminating evidence linking the suspects to the robberies.

One suspect, Calvin Langston, was apprehended by a witness at a Parkway Village Walgreens after robbing a woman. He was taken into custody by officers.

Following further investigations, Angelica Washington, Denisha Lewis, Deshun Lewis, and Calvin Langston were identified as suspects in the armed robberies. The Pontiac, owned by Langston, was searched, leading to the recovery of stolen items.

Denisha Lewis and Deshun Lewis were arrested at their residence, where stolen property and clothing from the robberies were found.

Angelica Washington and Deshun Lewis are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, while Calvin Langston’s court date is set for Wednesday and Denisha Lewis’ for Friday.
