A third man has been apprehended in relation to the homicide of a 24-year-old woman who disappeared from a midtown apartment complex two years ago.
Allahnia Lenoir was last sighted on July 30, 2022, at the Peachtree Midtown Apartments on Peachtree Street. Authorities suspect that Lenoir met her demise within a unit and that her remains were disposed of.
Case Developments
In September 2022, Diante Reynolds was formally accused of murder, concealing the death of another, financial identity fraud, forger in the first degree, tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance in schedule I or II with intent to distribute.
A second suspect, Nicholas Hendrickson, was taken into custody in November and charged with concealing the death of another, false statements, hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal, and tampering with evidence.
Recent Arrest
Authorities had been on the lookout for a third suspect, 29-year-old Steven Oboite. On June 1, game wardens intercepted a jet ski for a violation in a no-wake zone on Lake Allatoona. During the stop, officers suspected the individual was impaired and initiated an investigation. The suspect declined to provide identification and sped ashore, fleeing into the woods. Game wardens pursued and successfully apprehended him.
The man was later identified as Oboite, who had multiple active felony warrants from Atlanta. He was charged with BUI, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, violation of rules of the road for boat traffic, and providing false information to law enforcement. Oboite was subsequently incarcerated in the Bartow County jail.
Legal Ramifications
It remains unclear what specific charges Oboite is facing in relation to Lenoir’s demise, as her body has yet to be located.
