TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) – Authorities in Texarkana, Arkansas, have arrested a man following a shooting incident at a local establishment. The suspect, identified as Sean Barrett, allegedly fired a shot into a victim’s foot before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday, May 31 at 11 p.m. at Whiskey River, located at 310 East 49th Street. Witnesses at the scene informed police that Barrett was denied entry into the establishment by security staff. He was then escorted to the parking lot where he got into his GMC truck.

Barrett then reportedly drove his truck towards the entrance where the victim and security staff were present. It is alleged that he fired a single shot from his vehicle, striking the victim in the foot before speeding away from the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following an investigation, Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) obtained probable cause to issue an arrest warrant for Barrett.

On June 1 at 10:30 a.m., Barrett turned himself in and was subsequently arrested. He has been booked into Miller County Detention and is facing charges of battery 1st degree and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.
