Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 27-year-old man has confessed to the brutal murder of a 54-year-old businessman in Nonthaburi, Thailand. The suspect, Phurinat Karnjanabunyong, was apprehended in Chumphon on Friday, following the heinous crime that took place on May 20 at a condominium on Ngamwongwan Road. The victim, identified as Paisarn Tong-on, was left to decompose in the condominium for several days before being discovered due to the foul odour emanating from the premises.

Phurinat Karnjanabunyong, a graduate of a prestigious university with a degree in law, had known Paisarn for about a year. They were co-owners of a clothing business, having jointly invested 5 million baht in the venture. However, Phurinat declined to divulge further details about the business and refuted claims of any romantic involvement with the deceased.

According to Phurinat’s statement to the authorities, a confrontation ensued between him and Paisarn during a meeting at the condominium, where the former inquired about their business investment. The disagreement escalated, leading Phurinat to fatally assault Paisarn with a knife that he purportedly purchased for self-defence on his way to the meeting.

Phurinat has been charged with premeditated murder, as well as theft using a weapon and vehicle, and unlawful possession of a weapon in an urban area. Despite initially denying the allegations, he eventually confessed to the crime during police interrogation.

Hailing from a affluent family with interests in a durian farm in Chumphon, Phurinat’s motives for the murder have come under scrutiny. The victim’s family believes that the heinous act was committed with the intention of seizing Paisarn’s assets, rather than due to a business dispute as claimed by the suspect.

Further investigations revealed that Phurinat had utilised Paisarn’s mobile phone to conduct bank transactions for purchasing gold in Lat Phrao post the murder. Additionally, he was found in possession of the victim’s identification card and gold bars. Furthermore, Phurinat had duped Paisarn’s niece by impersonating the deceased, instructing her to deliver his possessions, including important documents and his wallet.

The case continues to unravel as law enforcement authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the shocking crime that has sent shockwaves through the community. The tragic loss of Paisarn Tong-on serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating consequences of violence..
