Noah Smith : Brooklyn Police Seek Suspect in Jewelry Theft and Assault on Kids

BROOKLYN, NY — A disturbing incident took place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at around 3:15 PM near the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn. Two young girls were the victims of a violent robbery, and the New York City Police Department is actively seeking the male suspect involved in the attack.

According to reports, the assailant approached a 14-year-old girl and her 6-year-old sister from behind, demanding the older girl’s gold necklace. When the 14-year-old refused, the suspect began to choke the younger child with one hand while forcefully taking her necklace. He then snatched the necklace from the older girl before fleeing on foot.

The victims were quickly taken to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment and are currently in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, standing approximately 5’8″ tall, with a large build and dark hair tied in a ponytail. He is estimated to be between 25 and 40 years old and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and dark shoes, carrying a gray and red Target shopping bag. Following the incident, he put on a gray hooded sweatshirt over his white t-shirt.
