PHOENIX — A tragic incident unfolded late Friday night in the Desert Ridge area of Phoenix, as authorities responded to reports of a shooting near a bus stop that resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man.
Police arrived at the scene, located near Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive, around 11:30 p.m. to find the victim, identified as Nathan Page, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts from police and fire personnel to save him, Page tragically succumbed to his injuries on site.
Through the cooperation of nearby witnesses and examination of video surveillance footage, detectives were able to identify a suspect in the case. 31-year-old Arbron Mehaj, who was believed to be residing in the vicinity, was apprehended after additional evidence was uncovered during a search warrant execution. Mehaj now faces charges of second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting.
The investigation into this heartbreaking incident continues as authorities work to uncover the motives and circumstances surrounding the shooting. The community is urged to come forward with any relevant information that may assist in the ongoing inquiry.
