Accident – Death – Obituary News : The small village of Mwingi West in Kitui County was struck by tragedy when a 24-year-old man admitted to killing his 40-year-old partner in a suspected love triangle. The incident, which left the community shrouded in grief and sorrow, was confirmed by Kyethani Location Chief Mwikali Musili.
According to Musili, the man, identified as Mbuvi, confessed to killing Seral Mbuvi, with whom he had been in a relationship. The suspect allegedly used wood to murder the woman after suspecting her of infidelity. “The suspect says that he lived with the woman; they were a couple. Recently, another man from Garissa came, and the wrangles began,” Mwikali explained.
It was revealed that the suspect, although not well-known in the area, had worked for the deceased before their romantic involvement. Serah’s brother, Daniel Mbuvi, disclosed that the suspect had previously hinted at plans to kill someone during a family event. “I don’t know where Mbuvi hails from, but he has been staying here for some time. On Saturday, we had an event here, and he said someone in this homestead would die before the week ended,” Daniel recounted.
Following his confession, enraged residents attacked the suspect before the local administrator intervened to stop the mob. The body of the deceased has been transferred to Mwingi Level 4 hospital mortuary, while the suspect is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, in Kisii County, another tragic incident unfolded as police launched investigations into the killing of a man in Bonyakakoni village. Wesley Aringa Okindo, aged 28, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, Sheilla Nyanckoka Ombati, following a domestic dispute. Reports indicate that Sheilla used a kitchen knife to fatally wound her husband after a late-night altercation.
