Amidst a surge in crime in Karachi, another tragic incident has left the city in shock. A 27-year-old mechanical engineer and gold medalist, Irtiza, was brutally murdered in the Gulshan Iqbal area while resisting a robbery attempt.
Irtiza, who had recently tied the knot just two years ago, became a victim of senseless violence when he surrendered his motorcycle to the robbers but tried to take cover behind the vehicle. Despite his efforts to protect himself, the robbers callously shot him.
Today, as the city mourns the loss of a promising young man, Irtiza will be laid to rest after Asr prayers.
Police Action in Response to Recent Robberies
In a separate incident that has sparked outrage, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gulshan Iqbal police station has been suspended following a robbery attempt against a woman in the Five Star area of North Nazimabad.
The woman was targeted by motorcycle-borne assailants who not only snatched her purse but also physically assaulted her. In a horrifying turn of events, the perpetrators brandished a weapon, threatening the woman before fleeing the scene with her belongings.
CCTV footage capturing the incident shows the assailants aggressively attacking the woman as she bravely resisted. Despite her efforts to escape, the robbers managed to overpower her and snatch her purse.
Although the victim has not yet lodged a formal complaint with the authorities, the police are actively investigating the matter.
Orangi Town Mob Violence: Robbery Suspect Killed, Accomplices at Large
In a separate development in Orangi Town, a robbery suspect was apprehended by vigilant members of the community but tragically succumbed to mob violence.
While the deceased robber’s accomplices remain at large, the police have launched a manhunt to bring them to justice. During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered weapons and stolen goods from the apprehended suspect.
