The suspects, identified as Deepak and Manish Kumar, reportedly initiated contact with the victim through the social media platform Facebook.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the city police station, KS Rana, “Deepak came into contact with the young woman in Dehradun after establishing a friendship with her on Facebook. Subsequently, he coerced her into making explicit videos and then lured her to Haridwar, where both perpetrators allegedly subjected her to a brutal gang rape in a hotel room. To exacerbate the situation, they resorted to blackmailing the victim and demanded payment in exchange for her silence. Following the distressing ordeal, the victim’s parents lodged a formal complaint, leading to the swift arrest of both accused individuals.”
