Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night in Sumter County, Florida, when a 15-year-old boy was killed and a 48-year-old man was hospitalized after a violent attack during a sleepover. The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, crashed the sleepover at the victim’s house and stabbed both victims, leading to a devastating outcome.

Sumter County Undersheriff Pat Breeden revealed that deputies received a distress call around 10 p.m. and rushed to the scene where they found the two victims in critical condition. Emergency medical personnel provided immediate aid before airlifting them to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.

The young boy, identified as Connor Michael Gill, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly before 1:30 a.m. The 48-year-old man, whose identity has not been disclosed, remains in stable condition as he continues to recover.

The suspect, identified as Alexander Warren Hernandez, was swiftly located with the assistance of the sheriff’s office helicopter. Breeden shared images of the weapons used in the attack, including a knife and a kama, a Japanese farming blade resembling a scythe that Hernandez had purchased online.

Motive remains unclear

According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez arrived unannounced at the residence and forcefully entered the premises after the young victim opened the door. He proceeded to stab the boy and threatened another individual present at the scene. The adult victim intervened, only to be stabbed as well, in a shocking turn of events.

Investigations revealed that the suspect and the victims were acquainted with each other, and all three individuals had been withdrawn from school to pursue homeschooling. Despite ongoing efforts, authorities have yet to ascertain a clear motive behind the violent attack that claimed the life of a young teenager.

Hernandez now faces serious charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and armed burglary, as the legal process unfolds in the wake of this tragic incident.
