An 11-year-old boy, identified as Asif Ahmad Thekray, tragically drowned to death in an irrigation canal in Thune area of Kangan, located in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The incident took place on Sunday, leaving the local community in shock and sadness.

Despite efforts to save him, the young boy could not be saved and was later retrieved from the water. He was quickly rushed to SDH Kangan for medical attention, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
