Salman Khan House Firing Incident

The Bollywood actor had been previously threatened by the Bishnoi community for allegedly killing a black buck in 1998.

Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Police have apprehended four individuals who were allegedly planning to harm Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, officials reported on Saturday. The suspects, identified as Dhananjay Singh Tapesingh also known as Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia also known as Nhahi, Wapasi Khan also known as Wasim Chikna, and Jeeshan Khan also known as Javed Khan, have been remanded to judicial custody.

Acting on a tip-off and intelligence inputs, law enforcement agencies had been monitoring the activities of the accused. According to sources from Times Now, the suspects had conducted surveillance of Salman Khan’s shooting locations and his farmhouse as part of their sinister plot. It is alleged that the individuals were in communication with notorious gangsters Anmol Bishnoi and Lawrence Bishnoi, planning an attack on Khan’s vehicle and Panvel Farmhouse. Authorities are now on the lookout for additional suspects linked to the case.

Earlier in April, two men were caught on camera firing shots outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai. The suspects, Vicky Gupta aged 24 and Sagar Pal aged 21, both hailing from Champaran in Bihar, were reportedly affiliated with the Bishnoi brothers, with Anmol Bishnoi claiming responsibility for the shooting.

Following the incident, the two suspects were tracked down to a temple in Bhuj, Gujarat, where they were apprehended while disguised as worshippers. Vicky’s younger brother Sonu Gupta was also taken into custody in Chandigarh, with their family members in West Champaran being questioned by authorities. The police have confiscated their mobile phones for further investigation, as they continue the search for the firearm used in the shooting.

Notably, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had previously issued threats against Salman Khan in 2022, prompting heightened security measures for the actor. This stemmed from an incident in 1998 when Salman was accused of hunting a blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community.

In a separate development, a 20-year-old man named Rohit Tyagi was arrested for allegedly booking a cab from Salman’s residence under the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The police revealed that Tyagi had arranged for the cab to transport him from Salman’s home, Galaxy Apartment, to the Bandra Police Station using Bishnoi’s identity.
