Law enforcement officials from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office have identified and apprehended one of the potential suspects linked to a shooting incident in Red Bluff and another in Gerber that took place on Friday.

The incident in question unfolded on Friday when the TCSO responded to the 300 block of Ventura Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Following a thorough investigation into the shooting incident, detectives confirmed that three men visited the residence on Ventura Avenue on Thursday to meet with the homeowner. In the early hours of Friday, one of the suspects inexplicably shot the victim who tragically lost their life at the scene.

During a struggle between the homeowner and the suspect, a second individual opened fire, striking another victim in the leg. Subsequently, after an exchange of gunfire, the two suspects fled the scene.

Further investigations revealed that later the same day, the Red Bluff Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Main Street. The victim, a 21-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the TCSO.

Collaborating with the Red Bluff Police Department, detectives from the TCSO were able to ascertain that the 21-year-old victim of the Main Street shooting was one of the suspects wanted in connection to the Gerber shooting incident. The suspect has been identified as Osbaldo Rodriguez and has been taken into custody.

Authorities have now turned their attention to locating the second potential suspect in the case. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is urged to contact Detective Epperson at the Tehama County Major Crimes Unit on 530-529-7920.
