ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A devastating incident unfolded in Blair County on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the tragic death of a man who was pinned under a lawn tractor. The victim, identified as 59-year-old Michael J. Boone, lost his life in a harrowing accident that shook the local community.
Emergency services sprang into action around 12:30 p.m. following reports of an overturned zero turn lawn tractor on Kephart Farm Lane in Tyrone Township. Pennsylvania State Police and local responders rushed to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance.
The Blair County Coroner’s Office was alerted to the incident at 1 p.m. Deputy Coroner Dellinger conducted an examination and determined that Boone had tragically succumbed to asphyxiation. The fatal chain of events unfolded when the lawn tractor he was operating veered over an embankment, trapping him underneath, according to a press release issued by Blair County Coroner Ray Benton.
