Accident – Death – Obituary News :

MANCHESTER, NH — A tragic incident unfolded in Manchester on Thursday when a driver of an SUV collided with a pick-up truck, resulting in the death of one individual and multiple injuries. The driver of the Mercury Mariner involved in the crash has been identified as Kevin Hicks, a 53-year-old resident of Manchester.

Hicks was taken into custody by the local authorities and now faces charges of negligent homicide and driving under the influence. Despite sustaining minor injuries in the accident, Hicks was arrested and held accountable for his actions.

Legal Proceedings

Following his arrest, Hicks was scheduled for arraignment the next day. However, his legal representative requested a postponement of the proceedings, citing the recent nature of the incident and the need for further information. Court documents reveal that Hicks is accused of aggravated driving while intoxicated, leading to severe injuries, as well as negligent homicide and driving without a valid New Hampshire license.

It has come to light that Hicks holds a driver’s license from Massachusetts, which is currently suspended, raising questions about his eligibility to operate a vehicle on New Hampshire roads.

Police Investigation

According to police reports, Hicks displayed signs of impairment at the scene of the accident. Officers noted his unsteady gait and detected the smell of alcohol on his breath. Hicks claimed to be diabetic and received medical evaluation from emergency personnel on-site.

In light of the severity of the incident and the charges brought against him, Hicks has been remanded to preventative detention at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections until his arraignment.

Victim Identification

Tragically, one of the passengers in the Mercury Mariner succumbed to their injuries sustained in the crash. The deceased has been identified as Catherine Gagne, a resident of Manchester. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
