Jeerachatdech : “Dead Man at Bangkok Gas Station”

A tragic incident unfolded at a petrol station in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong area, where a man was discovered dead next to a Toyota C-HR car. The woman who was accompanying him is currently missing, prompting a thorough investigation by the authorities.

Police Lieutenant Sumit Klangdi, Deputy Inspector of Phra Khanong Police Station, reported that the discovery was made at 11.40pm on Sukhumvit Road, South Phra Khanong Subdistrict. The deceased, identified as a 56-year-old Thai man named Jeerachatdech, was found lying between a garden area and the parking lot, dressed in a black long-sleeve T-shirt and blue jeans. Despite no visible wounds, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

The man’s body was located on the left side of a white Toyota C-HR with Bangkok licence plates. The vehicle’s front doors were open, the engine was running, and the headlights were on. Eyewitnesses at the petrol station mentioned that the man arrived with a woman, presumably his girlfriend, who went missing after the incident.

Initial investigations suggest that the deceased was the owner of the car and was seated in the front passenger seat while his girlfriend was driving. It is believed that he experienced physical distress, prompting him to exit the vehicle and collapse beside it. The woman, in a state of panic, allegedly fled the scene, leading to a search by the authorities.

Efforts are underway to locate the missing woman for questioning, and CCTV footage from the petrol station is being reviewed to piece together the events leading up to the man’s death. The body has been sent to Chulalongkorn Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death, as reported by KhaoSod.

Family members of the deceased have been informed and are making arrangements for religious rites following the completion of the autopsy. The investigation into this tragic incident continues as authorities work to unravel the mystery surrounding the man’s untimely demise.
