A 21-year-old man has been taken into custody by police in Grand Forks, North Dakota, following a violent incident in the early hours of Saturday, June 1. Reports suggest that the suspect, identified as Jayden Lloyd, allegedly struck a 23-year-old man with a hatchet on the south end of town.
After the assault, Lloyd and a female witness reportedly fled to a residence located in the 500 block of Oak Street. The situation escalated further when officers approaching the property heard gunshots emanating from inside. It was later discovered that at least two bullets had pierced through an exterior wall, posing a threat to a neighboring home.
In response to the escalating violence, Grand Forks SWAT team was called in to assist. Fortunately, Lloyd was apprehended without any further incidents. The 23-year-old victim was promptly transported to Altru Hospital for treatment, with reports indicating that his injuries were non-life threatening. The female witness emerged from the ordeal unscathed.
Following the incident, Lloyd was arrested on multiple charges by law enforcement officials.
