A Cherry Tree resident who was sought after on multiple warrants was apprehended on Wednesday in Clearfield County.

The State Police from the Punxsutawney Barracks received a call to the area of West River Road and Main Street in Burnside Borough at 10:11 AM to locate 30-year-old Cody Schmoke. Upon search, Schmoke was found in a camper in the vicinity. Despite being instructed to comply with verbal commands, Schmoke resisted, exited the camper, and attempted to escape on foot. However, he was swiftly captured after a short pursuit and transported to Clearfield County Jail. Several firearms were discovered by the police in the camper.

In Clearfield County, Schmoke is currently facing a charge of harassment, in addition to allegations of failing to adhere to Meghan’s Law.

A female resident from Home sustained injuries in a road accident in Armstrong County last Tuesday.

According to the State Police from the Kittanning Barracks, the incident occurred at 10 AM on Route 85, just east of Coulter Road in Cowanshannock Township. The victim, identified as 67-year-old Brenda McCoy, was driving when a deer unexpectedly emerged onto the road. Following the collision with the deer, McCoy’s SUV came to a halt. The vehicle sustained some damage and had to be towed away. McCoy was suspected to have sustained minor injuries and was assessed on-site by Citizens Ambulance.
