WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office has reported the apprehension of two men following a police pursuit as part of an illegal narcotic distribution investigation in the county on Friday, May 30.
Law enforcement officials attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Friday night for a vehicle driven by Cerrone Lemar Lee with a passenger identified as Christian Skye Crockett. The two individuals allegedly disregarded the law enforcement’s signal to stop, which resulted in a police pursuit through the town of Wytheville.
Deputies and officers from the Wytheville Police Department successfully intercepted the vehicle on Railroad Avenue, prompting Crockett to attempt to flee on foot. However, law enforcement personnel managed to locate and apprehend both Crockett and Lee at the scene.
Following an intensive investigation, Wythe County deputies seized a significant quantity of illegal substances, including:
- 558 Grams of Methamphetamine
- 58 Grams of Cocaine
- 29 Grams of Mushrooms
- A substantial amount of Fentanyl Pills
- $4,139 in cash
Both Crockett and Lee are now facing various charges, which include:
- Distribution of Cocaine over 10 grams
- Three Counts of Drug Conspiracy
- Distribution of more than 100 grams of Methamphetamine
- Distribution of Schedule I substances (Mushrooms)
- Eluding law enforcement
The sheriff has indicated that additional charges are likely to be filed as the case progresses.
