13-year-old boy commits sexual assault on eight-year-old girl in Gombe

A shocking incident has rocked the community of Akko Local Government Area in Gombe, as a 13-year-old boy stands accused of raping an eight-year-old girl. The young suspect was apprehended by the Gombe state police command following the disturbing incident.

Speaking to reporters, the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed that the alleged crime took place when the 13-year-old boy reportedly forced the young girl into a secluded area and sexually assaulted her.

On the 24th of May 2024, a complaint was lodged at the Akko Division detailing how the suspect, on the 22nd of May 2024, assaulted the eight-year-old victim in a desolate location.

Additionally, on the 26th of May 2024, another report was received from Musa Saleh of Hammadu-kafi quarters in Gombe, alleging that the same suspect had violated his four-year-old daughter. The authorities swiftly responded to the complaints, apprehended the suspect, and arranged for medical examinations for both the victim and the accused. The investigation is ongoing, with plans to prosecute the perpetrator once the inquiries are complete.

In a separate incident, the police PRO also brought to light the arrest of a 45-year-old man named Mohammed Yaya from Tumu Akko Local Government Area for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl. The perpetrator is said to have enticed the young girl with monetary offers of N100 and N50 on two separate occasions.

On the 27th of May 2024, the suspect reportedly coerced the 10-year-old girl into his residence and engaged in sexual activity with her. Subsequent investigations revealed that the suspect confessed to his actions, admitting to luring the victim with money. The case is currently under scrutiny and will soon proceed to court for legal proceedings.
