LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Yara Vanessa Pineda, a 27-year-old woman previously arrested for kidnapping a child from a Target store, found herself in handcuffs once again on Tuesday for similar charges.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident took place at Seoul International Park in Koreatown around 5:14 p.m. Witnesses reported that Pineda approached several children at the park playground, picked them up, but released them when confronted by their parents.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Pineda engaged in altercations with parents who demanded she leave the park. She was seen running around the park, causing fear and panic among the children present.

Eye-Witness Accounts

Anwar, a young boy at the park, recalled the unsettling moment when Pineda tried to approach him. “There was a crazy lady running around and she was picking up little kids and the kids were running from her,” he said. “They got scared. She was catching them and running away with them.”

Another parent, Alberto Lopez, intervened when Pineda attempted to grab his son. “She looked homeless,” Lopez said. “I said, ‘Don’t touch my boy,’ and she tried but I said, ‘Don’t touch him!'”

Police Intervention

Concerned parents called the police and kept a close watch on Pineda until law enforcement arrived. She attempted to flee the scene but was located by an LAPD airship running towards Normandie Avenue. Officers confronted her, and a taser was eventually used to subdue her and take her into custody. Witnesses reported Pineda throwing her bags at the officers and spitting at them.

Previous Arrest

Pineda had a prior run-in with the law on Feb. 25 when she allegedly tried to kidnap a 4-year-old boy from a Target store in Westlake. During that incident, she grabbed the boy from behind and carried him out of the store before releasing him when confronted by his parents. The family stated they had no prior knowledge of Pineda.

Following her arrest in the park, Pineda faces kidnapping charges once again. Public records indicate she was released from jail just a week before the latest incident, raising concerns about her behavior and motives.
