A child care worker in Columbus has been taken into custody following an extensive investigation into allegations of abuse at a local childcare facility.
Authorities have confirmed that Pamela Marie Cook, aged 61, was apprehended on Thursday and is facing three charges of simple battery in connection with the incidents.
It has been revealed that Cook was employed at the Childcare Network establishment situated at 3009 University Avenue in Columbus at the time of the alleged offences.
Upon conducting a thorough inquiry, Columbus police officers uncovered three separate incidents involving victims who were under the age of 11 months. Subsequently, criminal charges have been substantiated in two out of the three cases, as indicated in an official statement.
Furthermore, law enforcement officials have identified Cook as the individual responsible for the reported abuse. It was noted that she voluntarily terminated her employment prior to the completion of the investigation.
Following her arrest, Cook is set to make an appearance in Columbus Recorder’s Court at 9 a.m. on July 1, as per police sources.
