The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) successfully resolved a tense 8-hour long barricade and hostage situation that took place in Marshall, Virginia. The incident, which began in the early hours of May 29, led to the closure of Route 710 as law enforcement authorities worked to ensure the safety of all individuals involved.

The ordeal commenced when a brave domestic assault victim managed to escape from a residence on Rectortown Road and alerted the FCSO about the presence of the suspect along with other individuals and firearms inside the property.

Responding promptly to the distress call, the FCSO deployed a range of resources including SWAT teams, drones, and negotiation specialists to handle the delicate situation. Contact was established with the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Marshall resident Noah Boiney, and negotiations ensued for several hours.

At approximately 6:40 a.m., Boiney agreed to release the other individuals present in the house. Later, at 8:40 a.m., Boiney himself surrendered peacefully without any further incident and was subsequently taken into custody by the authorities.

Boiney now faces multiple charges, including domestic assault and battery, brandishing a firearm, felony malicious wounding, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The FCSO has expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all parties involved in bringing the situation to a safe resolution.
