In a heartbreaking turn of events, a nine-year-old girl from Kerala, India, has suffered severe injuries after being shot at a restaurant in London on the evening of Wednesday, May 29. The young girl, identified as Lissel Maria, hails from the picturesque town of Gothuruth in Ernakulam district.
The incident took place at a restaurant located on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, where Lissel was dining with her family. Tragically, shots were fired from outside the establishment, causing harm not only to the young girl but also to three men aged 26, 37, and 42 who were seated outdoors.
According to Chief Superintendent James Conway of the Metropolitan Police, the shooting was carried out with a stolen motorbike. He stated, “A nine-year-old girl, who was inside the restaurant having dinner with her family, also suffered a gunshot wound and remains in hospital in critical condition. We have recovered a motorbike believed to have been used in the shooting. The investigation is in its early stages, and we are exploring all possible motives behind this heinous crime.”
