ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes unit has apprehended a Walnut Hill man on Thursday for grand theft and property charges.

Per an ECSO Facebook post, 52-year-old Floyd Scott Mooney has been identified as the individual involved in a case of firearms and other property theft from an elderly resident of Molino.

An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday, followed by the execution of a search warrant early in the morning at Mooney’s residence on the 3100 block of County Road 99.

Location of the Incident:

The ECSO Property Crimes unit, in collaboration with Pensacola ATF and the ECSO SWAT team, conducted the search of the residence where Mooney was located.

During the search, investigators discovered five stolen firearms and additional evidence linked to the ongoing investigation, as per the Facebook post.

Mooney was taken into custody and is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft exceeding $20,000 but less than $100,000, dealing in stolen property, and grand theft of a firearm.
