Accident – Death – Obituary News : Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- A multi-vehicle crash at an intersection in southeast Minnesota resulted in four individuals being transported to hospitals for treatment. The incident, which involved three vehicles, occurred at the intersection of Highways 61 and 19 in Red Wing.

According to the State Patrol, the collision took place shortly before 3:00 on Tuesday afternoon. A Saturn SUV, driven by 18-year-old Celso Afner Itehua of Red Wing, was attempting a left turn onto westbound Hwy. 19 from northbound Hwy. 61 when it collided with a Ford SUV in the intersection. Subsequently, both SUVs struck a minivan that was also present at the intersection.

The occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash have been identified as follows: Elodia Itehua Tzompaxtle, a 20-year-old passenger in the Saturn driven by Celso Afner Itehua, Constance Victoria Campbell, the 37-year-old driver of the Ford, along with her passenger, 18-year-old Jayme Jo Johnson.

Fortunately, all individuals involved in the collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Welch residents and Itehua were taken to a Red Wing hospital for further care, while Tzompaxtle was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for medical treatment.

The minivan involved in the crash was driven by 49-year-old Mark Harold Vinje, accompanied by 20-year-old Cody Jacob Vinje, both from Hastings. Luckily, the men did not sustain any injuries, and it is currently unknown whether they were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

Authorities have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the three-vehicle crash. The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Red Wing Police Department, Red Wing Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance responded to the scene.
