YUBA CITY – A suspect who fled the scene of a stabbing in Yuba City on Thursday has been apprehended by deputies on Friday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. when a man sustained a stab wound to the lower part of his stomach on Second Street in Yuba City. The victim was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
According to reports, the victim informed deputies that the suspect was wearing a “black hoodie” at the time of the attack. Despite efforts to locate the suspect, law enforcement officers were initially unable to apprehend the individual responsible for the stabbing.
Subsequently, the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Antonio Chavez-Alejandre, a resident of Yuba City. Chavez-Alejandre was located and taken into custody by authorities on Friday morning, bringing a resolution to the case.
Deputies have indicated that the victim has been uncooperative with the investigation, and the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear at this time. Further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident have yet to be disclosed.
