Accident – Death – Obituary News : Sherburn, MN (KROC-AM News)- Tragedy struck on a freeway in southern Minnesota on Wednesday evening, as a fatal crash claimed the life of one individual. The Minnesota State Patrol swiftly responded to the scene of the accident, which occurred shortly before 9 p.m.

The deadly incident unfolded on Interstate 90, approximately 30 miles west of Worthington in rural Martin County. Reports indicate that a single vehicle, an SUV, was involved in the crash. According to the State Patrol, the SUV was traveling eastbound on the interstate when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into the median before exiting.

Subsequently, the SUV careened into the ditch on the south side of the freeway, where it rolled multiple times. Tragically, the driver, identified as 53-year-old William Derrell Coney of Rapid City, SD, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was determined that Coney was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol was ruled out as a contributing factor. Additionally, the state crash report confirmed that the road conditions on I-90 were dry when the fatal incident occurred.
