The lifeless body of the victim was discovered in a pool of blood within their residence. The extent of the brutality became evident as her veins and intestines were exposed due to the removal of her skin. The severed head of the victim was found adjacent to her mutilated body. The tragic incident transpired on Monday evening in Huliyurudurga town, located in the Kunigal taluk of Karnataka.

The perpetrator has been identified as Shivarama, while the deceased victim is named Pushpalatha. Shivarama was employed at a sawmill. Reports suggest that the couple’s relationship was tumultuous, often marked by verbal altercations. On the fateful evening, a dispute erupted between the pair when Pushpalatha allegedly failed to serve dinner to her spouse. The argument subsequently escalated to encompass issues regarding Shivarama’s occupation.

In a fit of rage, Shivarama purportedly resorted to fatally stabbing Pushpalatha and decapitating her with a machine. He proceeded to dismember parts of her body, and shockingly, proceeded to skin her remains until the following evening before disclosing the gruesome details to his landlord. The couple shared an eight-year-old son, who was fortunately asleep during the harrowing incident.

Tumkur’s Superintendent of Police, Ashok Venkat, confirmed that the accused had admitted to the atrocious crime. He disclosed that Shivarama and Pushpalatha had been married for a decade, with their union constituting an inter-caste marriage.
