Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 19-year-old man was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a man and a woman with a baseball bat during a dispute in Ojai, California.

The incident took place on the 300 block of East Ojai Avenue, where a bystander reported witnessing a physical altercation involving a bat around 12:15 p.m. Ventura County Sheriff’s Office deputies promptly responded to the scene.

According to reports from the Sheriff’s Department, a verbal argument between three individuals – two men and a woman – turned violent when Reef Matte of Ojai struck a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman with the baseball bat.

Although it remains unclear if the victims sustained any injuries during the altercation, Matte was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The motive behind the initial argument leading to the physical confrontation has not been disclosed to the public.
