In a recent development, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a suspect in connection with the murder of a man in Mohave Valley. The incident took place on March 29 at around 11:55 p.m. in the 10000 block of South Tropics Road, where deputies discovered the lifeless body of 33-year-old Matthew Brant Cempter.

Identification of the Suspect

Following the discovery of the victim, the MCSO launched an investigation and identified the suspect as Michael Edward Kelso. A reward was offered for any information leading to the whereabouts of Kelso, who was believed to be on the run.

Arrest of the Suspect

After an extensive search, on Tuesday, May 28, the MCSO, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, successfully located and apprehended Kelso in Williams, Arizona. Kelso was then transported to the Coconino County Detention Facility to await extradition back to Mohave County to face charges of 2nd-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.

This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the case, bringing closure to the victim’s family and the community at large. The authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and ensure that justice is served.
