Accident – Death – Obituary News :

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Asheville authorities are still actively seeking answers in a homicide case that remains unsolved three years after a man was fatally shot inside a west Asheville establishment.

On May 29, 2021, Keith Larnel Blair, aged 31, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at Westville Pub. Another individual was also wounded in the attack but managed to recover from their injuries.

Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement officials identified Jhakar Horace Davis as a person present at the scene with a firearm on the night of the shooting. Davis was apprehended on charges related to the unlawful possession of a weapon, although no direct link to Blair’s shooting was established. Tragically, Davis himself was later shot and killed on July 12, 2021.

Despite ongoing efforts, critical questions surrounding the case remain unanswered, leaving both investigators and the victim’s family seeking closure.

Captain Joe Silberman, who oversees criminal investigations at the Asheville Police Department, stressed the importance of witnesses coming forward to assist in resolving the case. He mentioned that key evidence, including nearly 30 shell casings from three different firearms and the recovery of two guns, was crucial in piecing together the events of that fateful night.

The Asheville Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any information that could shed light on the circumstances surrounding Blair’s death. Individuals with pertinent details are urged to contact the department at 828-252-1110.
