Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man in Davenport, Iowa, found himself in trouble after he refused to vacate a house while firefighters were battling a blaze on Wednesday evening. The incident took place on Imperial Court block, prompting a swift response from the Davenport Fire Department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., a concerned neighbour noticed smoke billowing from the roof of the house and promptly dialed 911. The fire department arrived on the scene to find light smoke inside the residence, with occupants still present.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the fire originated in the kitchen and had spread to the attic. Firefighters worked diligently for over an hour to completely extinguish the flames and ensure no hidden pockets of fire remained.

One individual was transported to a nearby hospital by Medic EMS of Scott County for treatment, as per the fire department. However, amidst the chaos of the fire, a resident named Joshua Musgrow, aged 32, defied orders to evacuate the premises.

Despite repeated requests from both fire and law enforcement officials, Musgrow adamantly refused to leave the house, endangering himself and hindering firefighting efforts. According to an arrest affidavit, he even became physically aggressive towards officers, striking one in the face with his elbow and threatening another.

As a result of his behaviour, Musgrow has been charged with interference with official acts and two counts of assault on a peace officer. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities.
