A woman from Fayetteville, North Carolina tragically lost her life on Wednesday afternoon after becoming trapped in a burning vehicle following a collision. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Robeson Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, prompting a swift response from the Fayetteville Police Department.

According to police reports, the driver of a black Dodge Charger veered across the center line and crashed into a Ram 5500 pickup truck. The impact of the collision caused the Charger to burst into flames, trapping the passenger, identified as 25-year-old Jermeia Washington, inside the vehicle.

Tragically, Washington succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash and subsequent fire. The driver of the Charger was rushed to Chapel Hill for treatment of serious burn injuries.
