A 20-year-old man, identified as Henry Garcia, has been apprehended by State Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, in connection to a violent robbery at a jewelry store in Holyoke. The arrest took place on Tuesday, following a warrant issued by MA State Police.

Garcia is facing multiple charges related to the robbery at Shirin Jewelry in Holyoke on March 2. These charges include Kidnapping, Masked Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Larceny.

The incident was first reported to the Holyoke Police Department when a burglary alarm went off at the jewelry store just before 9 p.m. on March 2. Upon arrival, officers were informed by the store owner that he had been robbed of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

Holyoke police Captain, Isaias Cruz, revealed that approximately $90,000 in jewellery was stolen by Garcia during the robbery. The owner also sustained injuries to his head while trying to fend off the suspect.

In addition to the stolen items, the display case at the store was shattered, with blood and glass scattered around the premises. Garcia reportedly attempted to tie the owner up in the bathroom, but the victim managed to fight back and escape.

Police found a broken handgun at the scene, which helped them identify Garcia through a fingerprint match. State Police, along with the Lowell Warrant Squad, located Garcia at an address on Market Street in Lowell, where he was promptly arrested without incident.

During the arrest, Garcia was found to be armed with a 45 Caliber Firearm, and additional weapons, including an AR-15 Assault Rifle and a Sawed-Off Shotgun, were discovered in his possession.
