CLARION/BUTLER CO., Pa. (EYT) — New court documents released on Wednesday unveiled shocking details of a home invasion that took place earlier this month, leading to the arrest of two suspects, Damean Michael Felmlee and Herbert Dale Zellefrow.

The Alleged Crime

According to reports, on Monday, May 6, around 11:32 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police in Butler were called to a residence on McCommons Lane in Brady Township, Butler County, following a report of a home invasion armed robbery. The victim, an 82-year-old woman, recounted a harrowing experience where two men visited her home under false pretenses before returning the next day armed with guns.

The first male, described as thin and white with dark hair, along with a second male, entered the victim’s home carrying long guns. The first male pointed a pistol at the victim, demanding $40,000, and threatening her life. The victim, in fear for her safety, surrendered $10,000 in cash, along with jewelry, firearms, ammunition, and prescription medication. The men then fled, leaving the victim bound.

Identification of Suspects

Through detailed investigations and witness statements, Damean Felmlee was identified as one of the suspects involved in the home invasion. Phone records and surveillance footage corroborated the victim’s description of Felmlee’s involvement in the crime.

Incriminating Evidence

Further analysis of Felmlee’s cellphone records revealed his presence in the vicinity of the victim’s residence on multiple occasions, as well as his communication with accomplices. Troopers also obtained surveillance videos from various locations, including a school in Clay Township, Butler County, which provided additional evidence linking Felmlee and Zellefrow to the crime.

Arrest and Charges

Following a manhunt, Felmlee was apprehended in Leeper, Pennsylvania, where he attempted to evade police. Both Felmlee and Zellefrow were charged with a range of offenses, including robbery, burglary, theft, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and conspiracy.

Additionally, Heidi Boots, who was linked to Felmlee, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, concealing evidence, and providing false information to law enforcement.

Legal Proceedings

Preliminary hearings for Felmlee and Zellefrow are scheduled for June 5, while Boots is set to appear in court on June 4. The defendants remain in custody, unable to post bail.

As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to bring those responsible for the heinous crime to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
