Toronto authorities have announced that a 20-year-old individual has been formally charged, while a warrant has been issued for the arrest of a second suspect in connection with a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the Oakwood Village neighbourhood earlier this month.

The tragic event unfolded in the vicinity of Winona Drive and Vaughan Road at approximately 1 a.m. on May 7, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officers following reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered a man and a woman who had sustained injuries as a result of the shooting. Both victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. The female victim, fortunately, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, whereas the male victim’s condition was more severe, ultimately leading to his untimely passing shortly after.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Trevor Dalton John, a resident of Toronto.

Subsequent investigations led to the apprehension of Kemyan Franklyn, a 20-year-old individual residing in Toronto. Franklyn has since been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder, as confirmed by the police in an official press release.

Additionally, authorities have identified a second individual, 28-year-old Toronto resident Adrian Vincent Walker, who is currently being sought in connection with the same charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder. A photograph of Walker has been released by the police to aid in the search efforts.

Law enforcement officials are urging members of the public with any information regarding Walker’s whereabouts to promptly contact the police at 416-808-7400 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
