A man named Zachariyya Muhammad has been taken into custody by the Gombe Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following accusations of mishandling the Nigerian Naira in Gombe State.
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Muhammad was apprehended by authorities based on intelligence that linked him to an incident where Naira notes were reportedly sprayed at G-Connect in Tunfure, Gombe State.
During the investigation, Muhammad was presented with a video showing him dancing and spraying Naira notes in N200 denominations. Upon being confronted with the evidence, he confessed to being the individual depicted in the video.
The EFCC is currently conducting further inquiries into the matter, and once the investigation is concluded, Muhammad is expected to face charges in court.
