San Mateo – Three individuals have been apprehended in relation to a series of drive-by gel bead gun shootings that occurred over the weekend in San Mateo, according to authorities.

The initial shooting transpired around 7 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of North Humboldt Street and East Poplar Avenue, as confirmed by the San Mateo Police Department in a recent statement.

Subsequently, a second incident took place an hour later in the 3300 block of Los Prados Street, followed by a third shooting at approximately 9 p.m. in the 700 block of Monte Diablo Avenue.

According to reports, the victims of the first two shootings informed law enforcement that a passenger in a white BMW had fired gel bead pellets at them, causing injuries to their bodies and faces while they were out walking.

In the third shooting, a man and his pregnant spouse were targeted. Police mentioned that the suspects shot the husband multiple times, drove away momentarily, and then returned to aim at him again, narrowly avoiding his eyes.

Law enforcement officers were able to locate the BMW near the site of the third shooting and subsequently detained its occupants. Upon inspection of the vehicle, authorities discovered three Hydro Strike Pulsar gel bead guns and a container of Gel-Tek gel beads.

The individuals inside the BMW, identified as a 19-year-old male and two 20-year-old males, all residents of San Mateo, were taken into custody and booked into San Mateo County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime, as per police reports.
