Authorities in northern British Columbia have confirmed that human remains discovered along the Kiskatinaw River near Dawson Creek belong to Renee Didier, a woman who went missing nearly six months ago. Didier is one of four individuals who have disappeared from the area over the past year, sparking concerns in the community.

Investigation into Didier’s Death

The BC Coroners Service has officially identified the remains found on May 18 as belonging to Renee Didier. The North District Major Crime Unit of the RCMP is now actively investigating her death, along with another case involving unidentified remains found in April near Dawson Creek.

Details of Didier’s Disappearance

Renee Didier, a 40-year-old Indigenous woman also known by the last name Supernant, was last seen on surveillance footage at a gas station in the early hours of December 3. Her friends and family reported her missing shortly after, raising concerns about her well-being.

Other Missing Persons Cases in Dawson Creek

Aside from Renee Didier, three other individuals have gone missing from the Dawson Creek area since March 2023. Darylyn Supernant, a 24-year-old Indigenous woman, was reported missing in March 2023. Dave Daniel Domingo, a 24-year-old man, disappeared in August of the same year, while Cole Hosack was last seen on New Year’s Eve.

Appeals for Information

The RCMP has issued multiple appeals for information regarding the missing persons cases in Dawson Creek. Darylyn Supernant was last seen on March 15, 2023, while Dave Daniel Domingo was reported missing after a possible shooting incident in the Rolla area. Cole Hosack, who was not from Dawson Creek, was scheduled to start a new job in Medicine Hat, Alberta, before his disappearance.

Ongoing Investigations

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearances and deaths of these individuals. The BC Coroners Service and major crime investigators are working diligently to uncover the truth and provide closure to the families affected by these tragedies.

Dawson Creek, located approximately 400 kilometres northeast of Prince George, remains on high alert as the community grapples with the unsettling series of missing persons cases.
