Three individuals were apprehended on Tuesday evening in relation to a series of vehicle thefts and home invasions in and around the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police announced on their official Facebook page that their Narcotics and Vice detectives had uncovered a pattern of overnight vehicle thefts occurring between May 27 and May 28 in Pittsburgh and its neighbouring suburbs.

According to the police statement, one vehicle was reported stolen during a burglary in Zone 6, with the suspects believed to be armed. These same individuals were also implicated in several armed home invasion robberies in the area.

Law enforcement officers discovered one of the stolen vehicles on Rentz Way at Grimes Street, abandoned. As three males approached the vehicle, two of them quickly entered the car while the third continued towards it. When instructed to halt by the police, all three suspects fled on foot.

Following a brief pursuit, all three individuals were successfully apprehended. During the arrest, authorities recovered two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen within the City of Pittsburgh.

Among the arrested individuals are a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, who are facing multiple charges including resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, and possession of a firearm under the age of 18. Additionally, a 19-year-old man identified as Jose Rivera-Montes is facing charges for resisting arrest and fleeing to evade apprehension.
